While working on a Ketubah (Ketubot) for my sister who is getting married in December, I began to consider the many symbols for music since the man she is marrying is a pianist and architect, and music is a big part of their lives. As I played with the G Clef, I could see that joining two clefs, would create a heart, so I began to weave that together digitally. I placed four of them together because in the Kabbalah, the four is the castle, the space of complete safety, a foundation of strength and security. I noticed as I constructed this it also resembled in an expressionistic way, the harp. The harp is a symbol of peace, the sound of heaven reminding us of the beauty of soul and the love of Creator. At that moment it struck me that this would be a beautiful design for Peace. So I have created it here for you. The word Melomane is French for lover of music. There is no one word for that in English only combinations of words.
I hope you enjoy it, and if you are a Melomane or have one in your life, this might be the perfect bit of art for you.

A clef (from French: clef key is a musical symbol used to indicate the pitch of written notes. Placed on one of the lines at the beginning of the stave, it indicates the name and pitch of the notes on that line. This line serves as a reference point by which the names of the notes on any other line or space of the stave may be determined. Only one clef that references a note in a space rather than on a line has ever been used.
There are three types of clef used in modern music notation: F, C, and G. Each type of clef assigns a different reference note to the line (and in rare cases, the space) on which it is placed.

This day Michele, as we enter the final half of your tribute, my gaze rests on your ANGELS &,SPIRITUAL COLLECTION. What gifts are hidden here in plain sight for ALL to view and within which to take refuge. I am most ALIVE within the backdrop of the strings...whether violin, cello or harp...lute or dulcimer...The Kabbalah, mystical gatekeeper of ancient Judaic wisdom is the incense within my Judaeo-Christian studies, the Ein sof of my contemplative consenting. I see your work as a series of mystical gifts and I am humbled to ...be...surrounded by them this day. Exquisite inspirations, Michele.
