Description
Oregon Pine is a photograph by Michele Avanti, taken in Southern Oregon. These trees form a windbreak along one side of a big cattle ranch just north of Canyonville, Oregon. They keep strong winds from blowing off top soil while adding beauty, shade and cleaning the air.
Pines are conifer trees in the genus Pinus /ˈpiːnuːs/,[1] in the family Pinaceae. They are the only genus in the subfamily Pinoideae. Counting varieties and subspecies, the plant list of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Missouri Botanical Garden accepts 175 names of pines as current, together with some thirty or forty unresolved and many more synonyms or misapplied.

Beautiful. I find myself peeking under the huge tree to admire the farm scene in the background. The lighting on the cows and the trees in the distance is so inviting!
