Geode Night Sky at High Tide a mixed media painting by Michele Avanti
A client asked me to create a painting from a geode and as I worked with some of my geode photographs, I came across one that really lent itself to an ocean view. So I created this painting. It is not the painting that client art directed, but rather one that I had to create because I saw it so clearly as I reviewed my photos. Oh and when the client saw it, she had to have it. I finished it on a 30"x40" canvas which now hangs in her studio. I hope you enjoy it.
We all have secret places in our minds and if you are like me a starry night over the ocean, with big waves may be one you envision. A place where you can view the great seas under the stars from a safe place through the portal of a stone.

This was the first image of mine I thought of when I read the title. I personally call it, When you wish upon a star" It was a commissioned work and it is a big painting 30 x 40. Glad you like it too,Laurel. Thank you for stopping by.
